Rockwall, TX

Come play the first PDGA-sanctioned event at Harry Myers Park in Rockwall, TX!

This is the inaugural titleDISC Open!

titleDISC has been involved in Disc Golf for over 10 years. We, the current owners, have been playing disc golf for almost as long, and have taken part in over 100 tournaments as players, staff, and providers of online registration. It's finally time to run one of our own :).

Harry Myers Park in Rockwall, TX offers some of the best disc golf in all of North Texas. That's a significant statement, considering that the DFW Metroplex has more disc golf courses in the ground than many entire states have. This is your opportunity to experience sanctioned play on some very unique and challenging holes.

Saturday, May 31st is Founders Day in Rockwall. We decided to have this event on Sunday Jun 1st so that any players travelling in from out of town can enjoy the festivities in Downtown Rockwall (1/2 mile from the course) on Saturday and have plenty of time to practice and even play doubles before the main event. Even though the event is only on Sunday, this is going to be a full weekend of fun!

Along with the permanent 18 holes, we will be adding two more to allow for a total field of 100 players and to (hopefully) improve course flow. All Pro and Advanced divisions, along with Intermediate Men will play one round from the long teepads (except hole 17) and one from the shorts. Other divisions (Intermediate and Rec Women and Rec Men) will play both rounds from the shorts. There are 7 short teepads on the course as we will play it. Hole #17a will play from 17's long teepad to an alternate pin and #17b will play as #17 short normally does, during both rounds and for all divisions. We are also adding a hole between #17b and #18 that will bring the pond into play.

The City of Rockwall has been very supportive of this event, and as such we should return the favor by obeying all local laws and regulations, keeping the course clean and in great shape, and by supporting the local businesses... especially the ones that sponsor the event :). Who knows, if we really impress the Parks and Recreation department, they may just want to give us *another* outstanding place to play disc golf in Rockwall!

This is huge: Every dollar of added cash raised from sponsors and via fundraiser discs will be divided up amongst MPO, FPO, MA1, and FW1 - in that order. Added cash will be given to the top 3 spots in MPO, the top 2 spots in FPO, and the first place finishers in MA1 and FW1. We must raise a minimum of $50 per spot per division before we will start adding cash to the next division down the list. In order to add cash to all 4 divisions, we need to raise at least $350, so please spread the word and buy fundraiser discs. The more cash we can raise, the more we can increase payouts! We've been looking for a way to "better" the PDGA's payout structure and this should do it. It means that the normal PDGA guidelines will be followed for the normal payout, but we're going to beef up the bounty!

Doubles will be flex start from 10:00am - 5:00pm on Saturday. You may play more than once. Cost is $30/team for open and $20/team for Adv and Rec. There will be only three divisions for doubles (MPO, MA1, MA3). As usual, the doubles event is non-sanctioned, but all PDGA rules apply.

Note: There will be absolutely no event registrations taken on Sunday. There probably won't be any spots left at that point anyway since we're capping the field at 100... but do *not* show up on Sunday expecting to register for the event because you will be sorely disappointed. Of course, your best bet is to register online right here. Online registration will be available until Friday, May 30th or until we reach 100 entries, whichever comes first. Any leftover spots will be filled on Saturday during doubles. If there is a waitlist, it will be settled on Saturday as well. This event will start on time, no matter what. If your PDGA membership isn't current, please include the $10 non-member fee with your online registration. If you'd like to join the PDGA, please take care of that at tournament HQ on Saturday or *before* 8:00 on Sunday.

CFR Discs: We will have 25 CFR discs available for purchase with your registration, or at the event if any are left. Every disc sold will add cash sponsorship to the event!
